Memory Care Facility Provides Residents Of Dunedin With Enhanced Quality Of Life

Unlike the institutional environment associated with the common Memory Care Facility, Mease Manor provides the best of both worlds:  safety and security coupled with beauty and independence to the greatest degree possible.

Specially trained and compassionate staff understand the special needs of residents with memory disorders, and they specialize in behavior modification skills such as redirecting and de-escalation that maintain residents’ dignity as well as their safety.

There is no “one size fits all” standard of care in the Memory Care Facility at Mease Manor , and staff are trained to accommodate residents while valuing their sense of independence.  Some residents require personal care support such as help with bathing and dressing, food preparation, and medication management, while others may simply need some directional cueing or coaching.

The goal of the Memory Care Facility at Mease Manor  is to provide residents with  a safe home where they can remain ambulatory and independent for as long as possible in the beautiful environment that allows for safe walking areas inside and outside of the facility in a secure patio setting.

The Memory Care Facility at Mease Manor recognizes that isolation can exacerbate the progression of memory loss and co-occurs with symptoms like anxiety and depression.  Staff are trained to encourage socialization and participation in activities and programs designed to improve the patients’ lifestyle and sense of wellbeing.

Mease Manor gives the family members of Dunedin and Palm Harbor peace of mind, knowing that their loved ones have access to 24-hour nursing care next door to Mease Hospital.  A comprehensive continuum of care is available to seniors who age in dignity, as founder, John A. Mease, intended.
