Memory Care in Dunedin, Florida

Care that offers meaningful moments.
Memory Care at Mease Manor.

If you know someone suffering from Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia or memory loss, you know the emotional and physical toll it takes – on the individual and their loved ones. Inspired by Dr. John A. Mease’s 1964 vision for a continuum of care in Dunedin, FL, Mease Manor has opened a brand-new memory care community to help bring peace and fulfillment into the lives of older adults and their families living in the Clearwater area.

Recently opened, Mease Manor Memory Care includes:

  • 32 private suites that form two 16-suite neighborhoods
  • Communal areas for socialization with other residents and staff
  • Secure, thoughtfully landscaped patio areas for safe outdoor exploration
  • Private bathrooms designed with personal safety in mind – considered the first of its kind in central Florida

Memory care services and amenities include:

Gourmet dining, tailored to your tastes.

Quality of life is an important aspect of our care at Mease Manor Memory Care. So in addition to a personalized care plan, residents enjoy meal choices that fit their needs and match their personal tastes. Every meal is a complete dining experience, with familiar foods served individually to each resident from our gourmet kitchen. Aromas float around the entire community and meals become a central part of each day’s activities.

We focus on safety so you can live fully.

At Mease Manor Memory Care, we use non-intrusive technology to keep residents safe and offer individual monitoring programs based on a resident’s needs. Each team member is specially trained to work with residents at all levels of memory loss. We create and implement:

  • Customized meal choices for each resident’s needs and personal tastes
  • Structured activities

Nurses are available 24/7, and medications are administered by the nursing team to ensure proper administration and monitoring. Family, physicians and other members of the care team are encouraged to meet with our available nurses to discuss any questions you may have.

Mease Manor Memory Care is just next door to the highly regarded Mease Dunedin Hospital. And our location in Dunedin, Florida, keeps loved ones staying with us close to family and friends.

Frequently asked questions about memory care

Q: How does Mease Manor Memory Care integrate family into a loved one’s care?
A: Memory loss, whether from Alzheimer’s or other forms of dementia, affects more than just one person. So we work not only with individuals, but with family members and caregivers, searching for the perfect balance of respect and care from day to day. Each of our 32 private suites is carefully designed to ensure that residents feel safe and secure. Our program is structured to build confidence in an environment that promotes choice and celebrates accomplishments through familiar schedules and surroundings.

Q: How do I know my loved one will be comfortable, safe and secure?
A: Our 20,000-square-foot building has many safety and security features, including cameras inside and out, technology-based security for each resident, and total monitoring of the building. Residence bathrooms are designed to maximize the safety of residents and caregivers. And we pay great attention to detail – such as lighting, types of flooring, even the size of all the seating – to ensure each person’s surroundings are comfortable.

Q: Does someone give residents their medications each day?
A: Yes. All medications are administered by nurses to ensure proper administration and monitoring. The nursing team is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. If you have questions or would like to speak with a nurse, they’re available to meet with family, caregivers and physicians at your convenience.

Q: Can residents get snacks or eat a meal when they’re hungry?
A: Absolutely. The kitchen is open throughout the day with snacks, and our trained team members can whip up a snack for your loved ones whenever they’re ready to eat. Because we get to know residents’ likes and dislikes, we can fix them whatever they like – and we’ll be sure to make it just right.
